So very troubled

Postby Phil Hoover » August 29th, 2012, 8:34 am

by our "lack" of choices in the 2012 Presidential election.

Do I vote for the "devil" I know, or the "devil" I don't?

The system

Postby Pastor Gary » August 29th, 2012, 11:23 am

In the U.S. there are 2 (TWO) and ONLY two viable political parties. I know... that seems so unfair. If one is to have a snowball's chance of being elected President, one must — MUST — win the nomination of either the Democrats or the Republicans. Yes, that usually results in an unprincipled sell-out running (and WINNING) but that, dear friends, is the system, like it or hate it.

If you like the direction Obama has taken the country, vote for him and you'll get more of it, doubled down when he knows he won't face reelection again. If not, the alternative — the only viable alternative — is to vote for the only person who can prevent his reelection.

Voting for some principled 3rd Party candidate is a de facto vote for Obama, as the momentum is generally with the incumbent. Abstaining from voting is, likewise, a de facto vote for Obama, because it removes one vote from the effort to unseat him.

you surround them with your favor as with a shield." (Psalm 5:12)

Phil I just got thru listen to Condolleezza Rice, hope you heard her it was great and inspiring. She reminded me of why I have hope in Romney. He has qualities that I have not seen in Obama. If I listen to the liberals there will never be a conservative in my life, but I'm smarter then that.

Phil I would look at their record and see who is really lying. Success build success. Lies grows failure and can see that from the last 3 and 1/2 yrs.
God Bless

I would not call him the Devil, but he is a member of a cult. No matter how you look at it. I am voting for Paul Ryan. Not Mitt Romney.

Sorry but you must know that voting for Paul Ryan is voting for Obama no matter how you cut it. But thats what is great about this country...you have that option...at least for now.

Paul, go back and re-read that post... I think you misread his post. He is not enthused about Romney, but likes Romney's Vice-Presidential pick, and will vote for the Republicans because of the VP. :D
