Prayer for my wife's ministry opportunity

Postby dolfan » September 20th, 2012, 6:54 am

Out of the clear blue sky, an area church earlier in the week has asked my wife to speak for an hour at a women's conference early next year. It happens to be our old church (an AOG church) we were members when we were undergrads. Cuh-razy! :) I mean, we have no contact with them at all, really, except ---- well, you know, Jesus.

Anyway, she is just blown away with this and I am giddy like a school kid. This may not seem like anything to most folks, but it affirms a lot of things that have been happening in our spirits and lives in general. She already senses what she believes the Holy Spirit is laying on her heart to address, and we are in prayer already even though it is like 5 months away.

Pastor Gary, as I write this, I'm reminded of a dream I'd shared with you about 5-6 years ago. I don't know if you remember all that or not, and I don't expect you to. But, I do. And, that is large on my mind today.

Today, a lady from that church, involved heavily with planning that conference, shows up unannounced at my wife's workplace (as it happens, she was there on a work call herself, and stopped by my wife's office). They had a really special conversation and .... well, I'll just stop there.

Continuously, we are floored by God. In one minute, you're being elbowed and bitten and trying to figure out how to hug the people doing that to you, and the next minute you're getting chances to do what you love to do, small scale, but love it and treasure it. I love the smallness of God. I love the fact that He brings you into connection with individuals and small groups of people who He is giving the same heart and mind as He gives to you, and how He picks up the seemingly small parts of your own heart and puts them together in His power with others' hearts. It is electrifying to say the least, and that's a poor way of saying it.

HA! I typed all that and posted it without asking you to pray for my sweet wife.

There.

Thanks!

Thrilled for her! Tell her I am praying for her. I so enjoy women's ministry.

I will be praying. I totally agree with Shellie regarding women's ministry.
