This is one of my old friends. He and his brother have been famous rappers for over ten years but made it real big 10 years ago.

Just curious, 54 views and nobody is thankful to see a soul saved
Maybe because I grew up with these guys and his brother is still a famous rapper, but why is it if a football player prays everyone post about it on FB yet a Rapper who has hustled his whole life ( those 32 years his manger got was for over 50 tons of pot and millions in coke)
Gets saved and realizes that his words was promoting death but now he turned down millions of dollars to speak life by promoting and speaking about Christ.

Is this not as exciting because you may not be familiar with the hip hop culture? He is as famous as any country singer, foot ball player etc.

I am not being critical I am truly curious, again as he said if you knew him..... I have been to his brother and Pharell williams 25 million dollar mansion in va beach. To know what he did to get that famous and to achieve that much money and at his peak walks away.....
There mom was a christian and I thank God he is saved, I just wonder why this gets no response????????
He is no more important then anyone else but if you post your friend, family or someone at church gets saved I am just as excited. But Gene has walked away from the biggest label in hip hop and in the mist of Jayz, kanye west and pharell, snoop dog he walked away and told them it was because christ changed him. We often complain about what the hip hop culture is doing to our children etc. yet one of the most famous artist just took a stand for christ in front of the world. What a witness to all the young people that loved clipse ( him and his brother, now his brother is solo)
Anyway just a thought.

I'm not sure what reaction you are seeking. It's wonderful.
"God is excited to show you mercy. He rises to give you His compassion." (Isaiah 30:18)

"For surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous;
you surround them with your favor as with a shield." (Psalm 5:12)

PG dont misunderstand maybe just the reaction if somone was talking about souls being saved at their service We would be thankful.
Teebow get's so much fame based on kneeling, I just wonder why nobody seemed moved enough to even respond.
But I know where he came from what he was, what I was maybe I am just different...dunno
We hear of every famous person that claims to be saved and this is a major change for the world to see, I guess it excites me..
It's more then just words he walked from it all and christ truly changed his life.
Not condemning by any means.
I guess I can say if your kids are not saved, remember me...
Remember Gene Thornton... Jesus still saves :D

I just saw this. This is awesome. The Gospel is still the power of God to save!

Kevin, PM me your number.
I have piped unto you, and ye have not danced!

I never looked at the link before now. I think it is completely totally absolutely insanely wonderful! He had everything. Money. Women. Drugs. Artistic talent. But, he realized what he had was power, and the power he had was all wrong. The power he did not have was the power of God, and he gave himself over to it. Now he is saved, free and alive with real power. Power enough to stand in front of a group of college kids and boldly proclaim the saving power of Jesus Christ.
Human government bears the same relation to hell as the church bears to heaven. (David Lipscomb, On Civil Government, 72).

PG, Danny, Dolfan,

That is what i was looking for. Basically to encourage us all that Jesus can still save even when they have everything the world could offer.
Jesus is so powerful and I thank God for his mercy and grace.

Dolfan that is a very good point that he is now telling this testimony at Georgetown university. God is good.

I meant nothing negative BTW

Good stuff, but I'm not sure I fully understand the testimony. Did he walk away from secular rap and now performs Christian rap? It seemed he said he walked away from a project called Lord Willing? Did I misunderstand that? Just trying to understand the testimony a little better.

Of course, there's nothing wrong with owning a 25 million dollar mansion... just possibly the route taken to obtain it.

The 25 million dollar mansion is his brothers and Pharell williams.

Lord willing was the name of his first rap album 10 years ago. No he is not doing christian rap. He is mostly been writing books and speaking about the Lord.
