Tis the Christmas Season. Note, I did not say it was Jesus birthday. However most Christians, myself included, will celebrate the birth of Christ on December 25. I’m not here to argue about what is the actual date, I’m here to encourage my brothers and sisters to enjoy the season. Be thankful for all that God has given you. Use this season to show the world the love and glory of God. Don’t get so caught-up in the Christmas shopping that you cannot savor each moment you spend with family and friends. These are moments that you will never be able to recover if you pass them up because you are locked into the “now.”
I have a long history of Christmas Seasons to look back on, and the memories of them comfort me. Even during the worst times of my life the Christmas Season gave me hope for the future, and for mankind. We never know who, or how, we will influence when we interact with them. When they look at us will they want to be as we are? Loving and giving? Or will they see a mean spirited person that would rip their arm off if they reached for the last of some electronic gadget that was on sale? I pray that they would see the former not the latter. That they would stop and consider what the season is really all about, and would want to come to Christ. I doubt many will, but if one out of a hundred did, then any effort on my part is worth it.
Wishing all of you a Merry Christmas,
TW
