Short version of longer story:
We are a really Mac-user church... (like I said, please spare me the Windows/Mac razzing) and the church books were turned over to us by a bookkeeping service as Quickbooks files on a Windows laptop. We retrieved those files and — since both treasurer/bookkeeping volunteers have MacBooks, we purchased a multi-user Mac version of Quickbooks and installed it.
We are aware that there is a specific Windows version for non-profits, and that the Mac version is more generic, and does not specifically address the non-profit reporting issue... at least not as installed.
I have been told that there are work-arounds to make the Mac Quickbooks serve the needs of non-profit reporting, but I am NOT a bookkeeper, and apparently don't even know the right questions to ask or how to refine a Google search.
Anyone have real hands-on experience with this?
