When it comes to prayer for deliverance, which side do you believe - Written or unwritten?

Me either. Most of the time Christians get into dinking around with "deliverance ministires" in a misguided attempt to shed their flesh and find and easier softer way to be a perfect little Christian. What they are really trying to do is become a sanctified robot who never loses it's temper, gets tempted, or has trouble of any sort. It's a crock.

Demons do exist, they do attack, and occasionally they need to be cast out, that much is true from scripture, and from my own experience. BUT GENUINE CHRISTIANS DO NOT NEED DELIVERANCE FROM DEMONIC MANIFESTATIONS! If someone has backslid to the point they aren't a Christian (if indeed they ever were), you are dealing with a whole different set of issues.

Why is it that bad decisions seem to make to most interesting testimonies?

I agree Mike, I have had to deal with real demons, and it isn't anything as simple or common as what many of these ministries make it out.

Christians do have problems, and some intense councelling and discipleship is needed, and getting a handle on deep held lusts and long battled temptations is a good thing, but blaiming it all on demons is just not admitting our own guilt and responsibility. Why should we be worried about that when His grace is sufficient, I think it's more important to be honest with ourselves and God.
