Well, in the spirit of the times, perhaps we need to go ahead and get ready to learn to spell some words differently than we do now.

Colour
Flavour
Favour
Realise
Mum

And, also:

Elevators will be lifts
Foreigners will be expats
Soccer will be football
Vacations will be holidays

Who's English will be the official English??

I agree that this designation would not really change much. It would basically be saying what most already feel. That english is the official language. BUT as PG said it upsets me that we have to supply ballots and other info in several different tounges...

IF you want to be here and become a citizen the VERY FIRST STEP should be to learn english. Right now we have some that are pandering to anyone and everyone because they think it might get them votes LATER... and (sorry to say )those are people on both sides.

but what shows how stupid some of this is, almost everyone that is not infavor of english as the official language are the same people that want a step by step process to become legal and almost EVERYONE of them have one of the first steps is LEARN ENGLISH..
