Wow what a speech. She can hold her on and she has fully won my support.

I admit I was worried with all the "revelations" and "troopergate" but she can handle her on.

Brilliant execution and timing delievered by a "lip-stick-wearing bulldog."

I loved it also! This woman has what it takes to help run our country. Made me proud! I loved the way she expresses herself and what a sense of humor she has! WHOA! We might win this election after all. :D

DaJudge wrote:I've been following politics for my entire life. As a 12 year old kid I used to watch gavel to gavel coverage of both the DNC and the RNC. I've seen alot of speeches from a lot of politicians. I can say, without hyperbole, that was the best political speech I've ever seen, with the possible exception of some of Reagan's. Sarah Palin is a natural. She didn't miss a beat, and she hit a grand slam out of the park. This woman EVISCERATED Barak Obama and did it with a smile on her face. She's a charming woman who is tough as nails.

Do you still doubt her Dolfan?

DaJudge, I don't know. I'm being as honest as I can. I just don't know. I said in another post on the thread about the electoral polls that I was pretty wowed tonight by that speech. The people in the room with me were, too. I live in a Democrat's Democrat county. Republicans are either silent or giggled at here, except during election cycles when they get cussed. Sarah Palin has magic on her. That's no hyperbole, either.

But, let's be frank. We've never seen her in a debate. Joe Biden is a pro. I always say that the team that should win usually does. Joe Biden should win that debate with Palin on sheer experience alone. Just the form of debate itself is something he's done for 35 years. Palin is a wonderful sales person, but is she a debater? Can she even sit in the same room with Biden? I don't know. But, I have to tell you that I doubt it still, even after tonight.

And, y'all, it isn't that I don't want McCain to win. For crying out loud I've sold my entire view of the role of government out the door to support this guy because I think Obama's brand of evil is far worse than McCain's, and a vote for anyone but McCain is a vote for Obama. I'm probably a bigger flip-flopper than McCain and Obama combined just by changing my mind to vote for McCain! I don't believe in investing in the improbable unless something greater than my investment is at stake. Clearly, we are in an election where the risk is wholly lopsided against my investment. And, unless something in the public conscience changes drastically and soon, the possibility of McCain actually pulling this thing off is just too remote to think that Palin will be the difference maker. People don't vote for VP's, they say. If this woman manages to make that particular truth a mere truism, then she is of greater historic importance than either Hillary or Obama could hope to be.
Human government bears the same relation to hell as the church bears to heaven. (David Lipscomb, On Civil Government, 72).

Bush wasn't much of a debater either, IMHO. I think for the most part that people make their decisions regarding a candidate for other reasons, and often before the debates. The debates are a sidebar.

Let's face it. The true liberals and true conservatives are already somewhat grounded behind their candidate. It's those moderates that will make the difference.

I say this as I put on my Bullet Proof Vest.....

I loved the speech and I have liked Palin since I read a few stories on her a few months back but I just find it so funny that people think she is great because of a speech, just like people gave obama so much credit over his speech and just like ole Bill Clinton got such love over his speeches... Well folks. While they all may have helped with the speeches, None of them or any other Political figure gives a planned speech that was not written for them.

Yes she gave it well and I think alot of her thoughts were in the speech, The test will be how she responds when she is having to talk off the cuff.

again I think she should be the Prez, I like her better than McCain but this speech just shows she knows how to read and has good timing

TC,

I agree with you to a point. But it's not the words of the speech, but the delivery behind the speech. Words or no words, the woman's personality, nature, and tenacity shone through.

She was confident, calm, solid, and best of all....REAL.

She's got it.

I don't even care for McCain, but if we choose an Obama over a POW war veteran military man and a every day mom with a brain in her head then we are a sick country.

Dr. Ron,

I don't even have a special needs child and I teared up when she mentioned families having an advocate in the White House. It's about time we have someone caring more about special needs than gay rights.

Shellie I agree with what you wrote about Dr Rons comments...

I disagree with your point of the speech. The Del was great, but you just have to look back to how Ronnie was treated as a talking head, and the pupptet masters behind him were the brains. I think today we will hear about how great speech writers she had. We need to remember the Loonie left has plenty of people who can read a speech with feeling... they are called actors. I don't listen to actors because for the most part someone is telling them what to say and think. just A bunch of "people in a box"

I Like what she stands for from day one. But I think too many are putting too much into this speech, instead of the real person she is. She is an everyday person, she is the most common person to run for anything since Good ole Abe. She has lived the life of so many americans, She is just like most of the moms in america. She is YOU shellie.

I think that her real test is over the next few weeks when she does not have some feeding her the words. She will prove she is not a talking head. I know this may sound very bad but it would not bother me one bit if after they are in office a month or so if God decided that Johns time was up.

It is interesting that the comments I am hearing in this regard from the obamafans, are very much like the liberal-evolutionist/darwinists. something along the lines that they are the elite intillectuals and that anyone that even considers voting for McCain/Palin are not only morons, but they don't deserve respect for anything else in their life because of that choice.

it's ridiculous. I even overheard one IT person ask another about the speech. the other guy said he missed it, and mentioned something about having to take care of his dog having to go outside for a number 2, but that he had DVR'ed it and will watch it today.

The first guy said "that's how I felt too, when she began to speak. I felt like I needed to take a dump."

Then their boss came in the middle of that and asked about what they were talking about, and he explained. the boss then started talking about how good the speech was (a Palin fan, obviously), and some of the points in it - the first guy interrupted him and started calling him a moron (several times - yes telling his boss he was a moron). then told his boss: "just go sit down, you have lost all my respect, you are now at moron level in my eyes, just go sit down and leave".

that was an example, and I have heard that kind of attitude many times from "the other side". it is interesting how similar it is to the scientists and evolution vs creation/ID issues.
Thanks, Brent "RamboPreacher" Hoefling
