Man alive!

Postby Ilovebigcats » November 21st, 2007, 6:56 pm

I am learning somethings about myself. Ya'll can thank Dr Ron for that.

I learned that instead of internalizing things that happed as "hurt feelings" that I should really say, "I am angry because." Danny said for 14 years I have said my feelings were hurt. He had no idea why or what I was talking about most of the time. I seriously realized it and had a light bulb moment. It was freeing. Now I literally say, "I am angry because." I feel like a weight is lifted from me.

However, I have noticed that I am a very angry person.    Seriously. A lot of things make me angry. I don't know if it is because I have had "hurt feelings" bottled up for so long or what... but BOY have I been purging lately. I feel good though! The load has lifted. I just hope I get it all out before I run everybody off. A few needed to be run off though.

In case you hadn't noticed TCOG is my current anger. I am getting it all out and I am going to be DONE with it once and for all. My feelings weren't hurt. I am stinking angry. I don't think it would bother as much if my family wasn't still victim.

WHEW! *sigh of relief*

I am thankful that you are seeing issues that need to be brought up, dealt with, and put behind you. Those can be very difficult to sort through. The flesh can be very resistant to the way of Charity, peace, forgiveness, and healing.

Just remember in all your sorting through stuff ...

Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you (Ephesians 4:31-32).

That is true. But sometimes it is not the ugliness of the truth presented that is so problematic. Rather it is the ugliness of the manner in which truth is handled. Speaking the truth in love does not change the truth one iota. If it does then one is not speaking the truth. One can do the right thing the wrong way.

Are you accusing me? What is your point? You seem to want to teach me and give me a lesson every time I post.

Who me?  If I share what may seem instructive it is only cause I care for you.

BTW, the only posts of yours I have directly shared on, especially in a ministerial way, was 2 (this one, and the Gomer Pile one). I feel confident you have made a ton of posts besides these over the past few days.

Are you accusing me?

No sister. I am exhorting you.

What is your point?

Exactly what I have said and written.

I prefer the direct approach. Say it and don't beat around an "exhort" bush.

Cats, I think what he's trying to say is just be sure you either begin or end your sentence with "bless your heart!" Then no matter what you say it will be alright. :P

Yes, or, "God love his heart" or "Bless his little pea-pickin' heart"..!
..I press on to take hold of that
for which Christ took hold of me.

I like this post. I had hurt feelings for years at a particular denomination. (none of the COG groups) Then I quit being hurt and just got mad. Now I'm over it all. But it took 3 long years to do so.
