Is Kentucky so far different from the rest of the world or is this the typical jab at the the south east because I have yet to live in an area where in TN that this wasn't true.

Thank you Mr. Danger. I noticed that little jab by PG too, and I didn't appreciate it. You would think that someone who is from Alabama would know that we Southerners aren't isolated back woods hicks. We gots them internets and cable TVs just like all you citified West Coasters and HI-WHY-ANS. We do know what is going on in the world, and have exposure to other cultures. Some of us even have college degrees and travel. I for one, even know a few Southerners that even wear shoes and have all their teeth.

Ohhhhhh PUUULLLLL-EEEEEEEAAAAZZZZEEEE!

I am from Alabama, and that was not a southern slam. It was directed at Gerald's narrow view, at least what he expressed in his series, in which he appeared to question how a man could attend a school run by a religion other than his own.

You can lose the regionalist persecution complex and pull that deep-Dixie chip back down off your shoulder. I speak with the same accent, was shaped by the same culture, and went to a school called the "Rebels."

OK, many question whether Romney is a Christian because he is a Mormon.

Why does Obama get a pass? Is he a Christian?

Also, I would never send my kids to a Muslim school and don't think I know any Christian parents that would send their kids to one. I think there is way more to the story, to Obama's faith, than meets the eye.

I'm thinking Louisville, KY is not southern. I happen to think Gerald is southern but he does not live in the South.

Not in Nashville, or Phoenix or Miami, but if you lived in Indonesia you might have few choices other than a school run by Muslims. That's all I am saying.

FQ, you could go to Kano, Nigeria or Sokota State where the population is 99% Muslim and radical at that. Where all schools are run by muslims. They are the only schools available. Christian schools are banned.....and the christian population have no means of home schooling. so if any education is to be available to the child it is through these schools. And they must pray at the prayer times, and observe all Muslim customs while at school.

Also yoou might be aware that Indonesia and Malaysia has the greatest population of Muslims in the world. More than the Middle East.

Easy to say what you would do or not do, when you know full well that you will never have to make that choice.

As far as the origional post of this thread. I think America is ready. I was with Collen Powell and Condi. They would have had my vote in a heart beat.

No. It is absolutely NOT what you are saying.

You are saying that I have a narrow view:

Pastor Gary wrote:It was directed at Gerald's narrow view, at least what he expressed in his series, in which he appeared to question how a man could attend a school run by a religion other than his own.

It is NOT a question of HOW a man could attend, but whether that attending would have a deleterious (Hi, TW!) affect.

THAT is two different issues. You seem to be...because of your "cosmopolitan" exposure missing the concrete fact that Islam is a Pagan religion and therefore is NOT something that is of equal or even beneficial influence as a Christian influence.

I am saying your POST reflects a narrow view, in that it suggests that Obama's world view is shaped largely by his education in a school operated by Muslims. To say so ignores his counter-balancing Roman Catholic education and his excellent, but very secular Punahou School education. Why would one assume that the Muslim-influenced portion of his schooling be thought dominant over the others?

Wow -- a bunch of southerners took offense at the slightest suggestion of a regional affront, but I am supposed to accept "because of your "cosmopolitan" exposure?" Gerald, this started, for me, as an intellectual exercise in discussion, and with every post you seem determined to keep trying to push this into some kind of personal slap-fight.

I am sorry for whatever has you so agitated.

Paul, first of all in such a situation I would abstain from sending my children to such schools if that were the only choice much like my choice now is either home school or send them to the public system which is run my socialists and heathens.

Second, Obama's parents chose to move to Indonesia and they chose to send him to a Muslim school. That is what we are talking about Paul. I am full aware that there are Christians throughout this world that live in horrible situations (they lived in horrible situations before they were Christians) and that you and I have it great. I am also full aware that you are called to go into those lands and share the gospel. You won't make me feel bad that is your calling and not mine because I do not envy you. However many of the third world folks that I have met that live in such conditions do not whine and cry about it yet they praise the Lord for His hand in their lives. I would guess they don't want your or my pity! Prayer maybe, pity NO!
Back to Obama, his dad and granddad were Muslim and I don't think he had it hard in Indonesia and or Kenya by any means.

I've had enough

Postby Full Quiver » January 5th, 2008, 6:15 pm

By the way Paul, Christians in 3rd world countires have it good, just as good as you and I have it. They are equal citizens in the kingdom of God, have the same benefits that God equally promises to load them down with, have hope, peace, and all the goodness of the same Saviour that you and I enjoy. Quite frankly I am sick to death of people, mostly Americans, suggesting that we have it better than other Christians throughout the world. There is no middle or lower class in God's kingdom and you for one should not promote such. My God watches over them just as He does over me. No radical Muslim on this Earth can sneak up on the Holy Ghost and His ability to guard God's children. Take a lesson from that other missionary named Paul and realize that nothing cannot separate those faithful saints from the love of God and they don't need your constant nagging of us to have pity for them.

I can post Scripture if needed!

FQ, don't mean to offend you but man are you living in some kind of self imposed world of non-reality. Christians around the world may all be heading to the same place ( Heaven) but for you or anyone to say that those who are suffering death, starvation, beating, having their wives kidnappaed and repeatedly raped. That they have it as good as we do here in this country. Sorry sir, but you are off your rocker.

It is estimated ( world maps, voice of the maryters, and other christian watch groups) that an estimated 175,000 Christians around the world are killed because of their faith in Jesus Christ each year. That comes out to about 469 each and every day. No days off, non stop. Today while you are in church and enjoying time with your family 469 Christians will be killed because they believe in Jesus Christ.

And they have it just as good as we do. YEAH RIGHT !!!!!! #-o

BTW, they had no choice as to where they were born, they did have the right to make a choice in whom they would believe in. Jesus Christ. And if Christians in third world countries have it as good as you. Then why not pack up your bags and family and move to Sudan, or Eritrea that is where they capture christians and store then in ocean containes in the hot sun and many die from the heat while being locked up.

I totally agree, Paul.

I'm sorry that you feel that God cares for the American Christians more than the 3rd world Christians. That's just heresy preacher. Again I say no radical Muslim ever snuck up on the Holy Ghost. What happens happens for the will and glory of God. If you can't understand that then I am sorry. I don't see or hear any one hear whining and throwing a fit that we have it so good and Peter was killed, James was killed, Paul was thrown to the lions and dies, and even that Jesus died. We accept those Biblical truths as God's will but then we say...... Godd grief get a grip Paul! God is not the cause of you having it any better than any other Christian anywhere. Jesus' blood is just that and it paid for you, I, and those same blessed souls that die for their faith everyday. In fact sometimes I envy those folks. They get to live by their faith and not be bothered by all the "luxuries" that we have.

You lost me FQ, No where did I say that God cares for American Christians more than those in the third world. God loves us all the same. It is not Christ that causes the inhumane suffering that these precious saints go through. It is the greed, and lust for power that comes from the pit of hell that brings the pain and suffering.

That's just heresy preacher. Again I say no radical Muslim ever snuck up on the Holy Ghost. What happens happens for the will and glory of God. If you can't understand that then I am sorry.

It's not the Hoyl Ghost that the radical muslims sneek up on. It the believer in these countries and many times is cost them their lives.

In fact sometimes I envy those folks. They get to live by their faith and not be bothered by all the "luxuries" that we have.

And you don't live by faith ? I know, I have hear it to many times to recount. It goes something like this: " It's easier for these people to serve God, they don't have all the worldly temptation to deal with like we do. After all, it is only physical suffering they go through. We suffer real mental abuse against the mind, that is harder to deal with. As far as the suffering, starvation, they are use to it, the mothers aren't as close to their children as we are because they know that they might die. That is just the way it is. It is not the same as if it were in America.

If you envy them then why not get rid of all your luxuries and go. I will personally pay for the ticket.

More likely because what he read was completely ignorant blather.

Pastor Sam Smith
Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God? (Jesus)
