I must be in the minority. It takes me less than 5 minutes to fall asleep, usually much less. If it takes me 10 minutes, it feels like I have tossed & turned forever.

TV on, lights on.... usually doesnt make a difference.

Teach.. I can use the TV also.. but I don't like being hooked on anything.. so I do the above when I can.

I never just "fall" asleep. It takes a dedicated effort. Forcing myself as still as possible. My mind is to active.

yeah, I totally get what you are saying. Although, sometimes after a really hard day at school, it doesn't take much for me to go to sleep. The kids just make me really tired every now and then

Ha.. my wife can do this. And if for some reason she doesn't (sick etc) she gets frustrated. I told her to enjoy it as that was a blessing.

i can't use the TV. as long as it's on, I am awake.
I have found that I can put my headphones on (so as to not disturb my wonderful wife),a dn listen to my Bible. Using the KJV, I can fall asleep in about an hour. the NASB takes about 90 minutes or two hours. :) either way, I know when I am ready and taket eh headphones off, turn off the MP3 player, then it only takes a few minutes after that for sleep to hit me.

sometimes, if I am really restless, the tv will keep me awake. But if I've gone a full day, watching star trek does the trick.

Interesting. If I am marathon-ing ST, I find that after I run out of DVD's or if the network stops/ends, I am ready for some BSG or Firefly or Xfiles or...

I have a routine to go to sleep or else I'm up all night! I put on my IPod, listen to what I have labeled my "reading" playlist which is an all instrumental Celtic music list...very soothing, and I read till my eyes will not stay open any longer. If it's one of those nights I'm not able to fall asleep, I play Klondike on my IPod till I can't see straight and pop two Tylenol PM! It's aggravating not to fall asleep right away. My husband can fall asleep as soon as his head hits the pillow, and he's snoring within five minutes. Drives me nuts! I wish I was one of those who could fall asleep so fast, but my mind doesn't just shut off like that.

that might put me to sleep, but I don't know that I want to buy (and actually pay for) season sets of GG.
